Makers of the "Sweetest" Kayaking Helmets

Sweet is based in Norway. They are specialised in making thermoplast reinforced composite helmets for whitewater paddlers and snow skiers. Sweet helmets are extremely lightweight but absolutely though and the only composite helmets in New Zealand that carry the CE EN1385 Safety Certification. The inner foam fitting is purposely designed with head protection in mind and doesn't just consist of a thin layer of glued-in foam.

We have a number of different colour and size options of the following models:

  • Rocker Full Cut
  • NEW Wanderer
  • Strutter

Rocker Full Cut (Creeking/Whitewater)

The Rocker is designed with ultimate safety in mind. This model features a moto-cross inspired, 15 degrees adjustable, visor (removable). It may just be our most versatile whitewater helmet yet, and definitely the choice for the big days. The Rocker's special 2-piece design consists of a top shell formed from our exclusive TEPEX material, fixed to a lower occipital frame made of ultra-tough polycarbonate. A slightly larger shell allows us to to pack an injection moulded EPP shock absorbing impact liner inside. The Rocker's PC occipital frame has a small beak to shield your face from the sun, the water, and those surprisingly hard cockpit rims. Two ventilation slots in the front and back of the occipital frame can be opened or shut with sliders to allow cooling off in soaring summer temperatures. Removable earpads.
Sizes: M/L (56-59cm), L/XL (59-62cm).

Strutter (Whitewater/Freestyle)

TEPEX® Carbonfibre construction for lightweight and extra strength. The original Sweet Helmet.

Inspired by the most functional headwear of all time (the American baseball cap) the Strutter was first introduced back in ‘96 to an uproar in the international kayaking industry. Since then the helmet has proven again and again its superior functionality and safety for kayakers all over the world. Safety is our primary issue, and even though the Strutter might look like a piece of clothing, it will keep you safe shredding your local playspot as well as when cruisin’ the classics. It’s safe, it’s super slim, it’s comfortable and it’s way cool, what more can you ask of a helmet?

Latest news: The Strutter has highly improved fit, comfort and safety standards. This is made possible by the introduction of an EPP padding, with a 3 mm comfort foam and soft velour lining, and a new thermoformed neck piece.
